Thieves are more likely to steal new cars.
Truth: SO not true!!! For three years running the number one stolen car has been the 1994 Honda Accord. In 2011 the number 2 stolen car was the 1995 Honda Civic, and number 3 was the 1991 Toyota Camry.
Why? They are easier to steal and more valuable in the used car parts market.

If items are stolen from my car, they are covered under my auto policy.
Truth: Actually, it is generally your homeowners or renters policy that covers items stolen from your car. Make sure you have adequate protection!

Drivers of sports cars get more tickets and pay higher insurance premiums.
Turth: Not so much. Nine of the top 10 cars with the most driving violations were NOT performance models! It is not the car, it is the behavior of the driver. A 35 year old Corvette driver with a clean driving record will likely pay less than a 24 year old with tickets driving a Scion.
